Ron Greene
President & CEO
Ron's strategic leadership has been pivotal in Afni's transformation from a small collections agency with 50 employees to a global customer engagement solutions provider with over 10,000 employees in three countries.
With a background in accounting, he initially worked as a CPA and later joined Afni as Corporate Controller in 1992, recognizing its growth potential. In 1995, he partnered with Bruce Griffin to purchase the company. Apart from his professional achievements, Ron is an active runner, cyclist, and skier.
He's deeply committed to community involvement, serving on various boards, including Illinois Wesleyan, Carle Central Region, and the Illinois Chamber of Commerce, showcasing his multifaceted leadership.
Kathy Poley
Chief Operating Officer
Kathy, with over 30 years of industry experience, leads operational strategy and global processes at Afni. She fosters daily interactions between contact centers and clients, drawing on her confidence and expertise in team-building and strategic leadership.
Kathy's career ascent, from phone agent to Senior Operations Director over 15 years, included successfully launching a new center for global expansion, a pivotal moment. Joining Afni in 2004 as a Center Director, she progressed to Vice President of Client Services, excelling in merging day-to-day operations with a strategic outlook.
Beyond work, Kathy values family time, travels adventurously, and enjoys being involved in the community.
Mike Schwermin
Chief Information Officer and Senior Vice President
Mike leads the development of innovative and secure technology solutions for the company. He manages strategic planning, resource allocation, and financial aspects within the technology organization. His interest in technology started during high school and flourished during his time in the Marines, where he worked with systems and network specialists.
Joining Afni in 1998 as a Network Engineer, he rose through the ranks, becoming Director of IT in 2012. Mike's achievements include implementing Cisco UCCE systems and successfully establishing a center within a month. His calm and strategic decision-making consistently adds value to Afni and its client partners.
Mike is a thrill-seeker, a father to four boys, and actively involved in youth activities and sports with his family.
Brent Deterding
Chief Information Security Officer
Brent leads the efforts in identifying and countering security threats, safeguarding global security, and facilitating business growth. With over 20 years of experience in security, he's determined, analytical, and fully committed to his decisions.
Brent's journey into security began in the late 1990s, focusing on firewall management and excelling in protecting organizations from potential threats. He continually expanded his expertise through training, certifications, and industry involvement. For nearly two decades, Brent contributed significantly to growth, offering cybersecurity consultancy and threat management at a prior company. He finds joy in nurturing his team's skills and protecting Afni's data.
Beyond work, Brent and his wife of 20+ years share a passion for adoption, foster care, and leading youth.
Joe Glawe
Chief Financial Officer
Joe joined Afni in 2018 as the Chief Financial Officer, overseeing the company's financial activities. He manages financial analysis, planning, implementation, and execution, including strategy development, budgeting, forecasting, and negotiations.
Joe's interest in finance began early, leading him to pursue an accounting degree at Illinois State University and later becoming a CPA with over 40 years of experience at CliftonLarsenAllen LLP. He possesses expertise in various areas, including tax planning, acquisitions, retirement plans, and estate planning.
Rex Schaeffer
Chief Compliance Officer and VP, Legal
Rex assumes a crucial role, ensuring our company's compliance with regulatory requirements, managing legal matters, and developing forward-looking strategic plans. With over 30 years of experience in legal and leadership positions, Rex brings valuable expertise to Afni.
Before joining us, he served as Director of Strategic Partnerships at Illinois State University and ran his own consulting firm specializing in strategic planning and change management. Prior to that, he spent two decades in leadership roles at State Farm, earning professional designations such as Chartered Life Underwriter, Chartered Financial Consultant, Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter, and Chartered Leadership Fellow. Rex's legal and CPA background enriches our decision-making and financial strategies. He holds degrees from Illinois State University, The University of Mississippi, and Washington University in St. Louis.
In his free time, Rex enjoys family moments and cheering for the Green Bay Packers, St. Louis Blues, and St. Louis Cardinals, along with his lab puppy, Rudy.
Amy Peyres
Senior Vice President, Business Planning & Customer Insights
Amy takes the helm of the Contact Center Services and Subrogation analytics organizations, overseeing Workforce Management, Enterprise Intelligence, and Finance, and teams. In her strategic advisory role, she focuses on driving revenue and profit growth, delivering valuable insights to both the business and clients.
Formerly Vice President of Finance, Amy leveraged her business acumen to guide departments in informed decision-making, supporting growth initiatives by aiding Business Development in pricing models and assisting Client Services in contract negotiations. With over 25 years of financial and operational analysis experience, including 16 years at Afni, Amy is praised as a valued business partner.
A proud Illinois native, Amy holds an Accounting degree from Southern Illinois University, and in her free time, she enjoys family moments and socializing with friends.
Khalid Khursheed
Country Manager & Senior Vice President, Philippines Operations
Khalid is a pivotal figure in driving program performance at Afni, where his expertise in fostering collaboration and innovation has significantly enhanced client performance. Since joining in 2012, he has been instrumental in Afni's overall growth, especially in the Philippines, marking his presence as a natural and influential leader.
With a global perspective gained from diverse industry experience across multiple countries, Khalid shapes Afni's strategic direction, cultivates international partnerships, and fuels revenue growth. Armed with an MBA and a commitment to staying ahead in his field, Khalid recently completed an executive education course at Harvard Business School, focusing on AI Transformation.
Beyond his professional achievements, Khalid treasures family moments, explores new places, volunteers with the Cub Scouts, and passionately engages in cricket as a player and coach. His blend of expertise, education, and personal interests makes Khalid an invaluable and inspiring member of the Afni team.
Michelle Eickmeyer
Country Manager & Vice President, Mexico Operations
Michelle has more than 20 years of management experience, with over 15 years of comprehensive experience structuring and leading high-performing BPO contact center management teams and staff. Today, she’s responsible for the day-to-day operations in Afni’s Monterrey, Mexico center, including performance, employee engagement and retention, quality, and driving strategic recommendations.
Her focus on performance, growth, and leadership development ensures we provide outstanding value and results to our client partners. Michelle’s career experience includes inbound, outbound, web chat, back office support, social media response, and work-at-home staffing.
Jamie Thomas
Country Manager & Vice President, US Operations and Global WFM
Since joining Afni in 1998 as Workforce Manager, Jamie’s gained deep experience managing every aspect of the employee lifecycle. With exceptional leadership and a knack for building wins for both Afni and our partners, he’s earned career opportunities in executive operations management, workforce management, project management, and data analytics.
Today, he leads the charge in our domestic operations, from our four brick-and-mortar sites to our expansive Afni@Home program. Jamie designs and executes strategies for workforce optimization, forecasting, and real-time adherence that deliver stability, reliability, and predictability across our workforce.
Jamie grew up in Omaha, Nebraska, and attended the University of Nebraska before moving to Arizona in 1992. Jamie enjoys the outdoors, hiking, archery, camping, and spending time with his wife, two sons, and daughter.
Sarah Powell
Vice President, Sales
Sarah, a dynamic leader, drives lead generation, new business acquisition, and revenue growth. Her strategic focus extends to client base expansion, new programs, and entering industry verticals. Managing diverse divisions, including subrogation and customer engagement, she cultivates a vibrant work environment.
Formerly a civil defense lawyer, she excelled at Country Financial for eight years before Ron Greene recruited her twice at Afni. Sarah's impactful career includes achievements like Bloomington-Normal's top 20 under 40 and presidency at the Heartland Community College Foundation Board. Beyond her professional success, she's an avid traveler, exploring 40 countries and engaging in memorable experiences like hot air ballooning in the Serengeti and trekking Machu Picchu.
Wendy Kempf
Vice President, Client Services
Wendy and her team are the primary connections between our clients and Afni. They’re responsible for ensuring our programs meet the strategic initiatives for each client and partnering with internal teams to deliver outstanding results.
Since joining Afni in 1999, Wendy has developed an ability to create solutions that accomplish our clients’ goals. Her experience across our business and her talent in developing relationships with our clients is key to our ongoing success and growth. Wendy’s unique ability to tie frontline execution with overall strategy results in high customer and partner satisfaction.
John O'Donnell
Vice President, Subrogation Client Services
John is celebrated for his strategic planning and recovery operations acumen, accumulating over 30 years in collections and more than two decades in subrogation. His journey, evolving from a phone representative to strategic roles in large telecommunications companies, culminated in his 1998 entry into Afni.
A key figure in Afni's subrogation expansion, John's leadership and innovation shaped processes integral to the company's leading suite of subrogation solutions. Actively engaged in industry associations like NASP, TRMA, and ACA, John is a sought-after speaker and panelist.
Beyond his professional endeavors, John balances family commitments, daily running routines, and serves on the Illinois State University Katie School of Insurance Advisory Board. During downtime, he retreats to his family cabin in Wisconsin, finding solace while listening to Kid Rock.
Heidi Epley
Vice President, Global Human Resources
Heidi, a seasoned Human Resources leader, brings extensive global experience and a strong background in HR compliance to Afni. With a remarkable track record in driving HR excellence on a global scale, she ensures organizations adhere to the highest ethical and legal standards.
Heidi's career journey began at State Farm, where she excelled as a Communication Manager, followed by a thirteen-year tenure at Caterpillar. In her recent role as Global HR Policy, Compliance, and Continuous Improvement Director, she led a global team through system implementations like ADP and Workday while managing corporate policy governance.
Heidi, holding bachelor's and master's degrees in English from Illinois State University, is certified in SHRM-CP, Green Belt (Caterpillar), and Change Management (Prosci). Heidi oversees all HR departments and leads diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts across three geographical regions.
Robbie Cabral
Vice President, Global Talent Development
Robbie oversees Afni’s Global Learning Delivery, Leadership Development, Learning Solutions, and Talent Management. He is responsible for designing and implementing comprehensive talent solutions that align with organizational goals and foster a culture of continuous learning and growth on a global scale.
With a career spanning more than two decades, Robbie boasts extensive experience with large, global BPO organizations. Commencing his career as a CSR in 2002, he earned his bachelor's degree from the University of the Philippines and transitioned from operations leadership to training in 2007. Robbie's journey includes successful stints as a Manager, Director, and VP, showcasing his passion and hands-on expertise in talent development.
Seth Anglin
Vice President, Enterprise Intelligence Services
Seth’s focus is on advancing Afni’s BI, CX, and quality organizations, enhancing tools, and evolving analytics to deliver cutting-edge insights to clients. Known for his strategic acumen and diverse background, he provides innovative solutions, often contributing to complex business and client transformations.
Joining Afni in 2004 as a Coach, Seth swiftly ascended through client services and operations leadership roles. Demonstrating technical prowess, he formed a BI team that successfully launched the Tableau analytics platform, consistently producing valuable business and client insights. Recognized as a key leader, Seth has laid strong foundations for Afni's growth.
Originally from Nevada, Seth moved to Tucson in 1994 to attend the University of Arizona. Alongside his wife, he cherishes time with their five children, attending sporting events, and occasionally indulging in woodworking.
Nikki Hall
Vice President, Strategic Initiatives
Nikki spearheads Afni's strategic initiatives and pivotal decisions, positioning the company competitively in the industry. Her responsibilities encompass overseeing financial, marketing, and operational endeavors, managing projects and personnel, and ensuring corporate tax planning and compliance.
Nikki's multifaceted skills include strategic analysis, efficient resource allocation, and adept problem-solving. As Afni expands into new markets, she collaborates with leaders to address immediate departmental needs. With an extensive background, including roles at KPMG and the Cristo Rey Network, Nikki's contributions help navigate challenges and foster Afni's growth and success.
Raised in Bloomington, Nikki became the Senior Director of Finance at Afni in 2015. She holds a CPA from the University of Illinois and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. Nikki, alongside her husband, finds joy in creating lasting memories with their three active children.
Sean Halihan
Vice President, IT Infrastructure and Operations
Sean, with over 20 years of engineering experience, assumes the crucial role of developing, building, and leading Afni's modernized infrastructure and IT operations. Tasked with overseeing the design and architecture of the Afni Enterprise Datacenter and cloud infrastructure services, he oversees aspects like the enterprise network, server, desktop, and overall datacenter hardware and software architectures.
Sean's strategic execution and leadership focus on driving optimized solution maturity across services, mitigating risk, optimizing costs, and monitoring self-service automation and self-learning for stable growth.
Sean has a Bachelor of Engineering from Bradley University and is an outdoor adventurist and collector of Marvel and baseball memorabilia. He's also passionate about STEM technology and education, often volunteering his time to STEM initiatives at the University of Illinois. Sean also serves on the ISU Board of Industry Advisors.
Kyle Johnson
Vice President, Finance
Kyle supervises the day-to-day activities of our accounting and finance departments, overseeing budgeting, forecasting, and the preparation of financial reports. Collaborating with Afni's business unit leaders, he facilitates informed and positive financial decision-making.
Kyle, who began his career as a CPA at PwC and most recently served as VP of Finance for Keplr Vision, brings extensive global finance and leadership experience, including expertise in public accounting and complex financial matters. Kyle holds bachelor's and master's degrees in accounting from Illinois State University.
Outside of work, he enjoys golf, tending to his family farm, and caring for his two puppies, Izzy and Shy. Although tough at times, Kyle remains a devoted fan of the Chicago Bears, Chicago Cubs, and Chicago Blackhawks.
Anna Pinaroc
Vice President, Recruiting
Anna leads recruitment and marketing efforts in the Philippines, provides crucial support to US hiring initiatives, and plays a pivotal role in expanding operations in Mexico. Anna's strategic focus involves developing and executing comprehensive recruitment and marketing strategies to attract top talent, drive customer acquisition, and enhance brand awareness. Her collaborative efforts with training, quality, and operations ensure that all new hires fit their program and their roles.
Anna's exceptional contributions have played a crucial role in the company's successful expansion in the Philippines. Outside of work, Anna loves to spend time with her family and her pet Yorkies. She also plays basketball, volleyball, tennis, and enjoys running.
Alain Katigbac
Vice President, Philippine Operations
Assuming responsibility for key programs in the Philippines, Alain brings over 20 years of BPO industry expertise to his role. From his frontline beginnings to executive leadership, Alain has consistently demonstrated strong management, delivering exceptional results. In his five years with Afni, he played a pivotal role in driving significant growth in the Philippines.
Recognized as a great leader with valuable operational experience, Alain's development skills and commitment to excellence contribute to the team's success, ensuring the right people are hired, retained, and developed for long-term success and cultural alignment.
Beyond work, Alain indulges his passion for basketball, cycling, and open-water diving. He enjoys time with his four dogs and three parakeets/budgies when he's at home.
Brian Wenrick
Vice President, Client Services
With an extensive background spanning 25 years in executive global Operations and Client Services positions, Brian is adept at effectively managing intricate client relationships and identifying innovative approaches to fuel growth. Tasked with advancing Afni’s solutions, Brian is passionate about overcoming and solving complex business challenges.
Brian leads with a partnership and collaborative mentality, prioritizing business outcomes and the ultimate customer experience while embedding technology-led solutions to enhance both customer and team member experiences.
Brian graduated from Florida State University and currently resides in Colorado. When he’s not exploring the slopes and wilderness of Colorado with family, he enjoys volunteering for impactful organizations such as Habitat for Humanity and The Help & Hope Center.
